What is collected. When you visit a page, the web server records your IP address, the time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user agent in its log files. The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other websites.
Why. To run the site, to find errors and to protect it against abuse, which are my legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). The logs are not used to identify visitors and are not shared with anyone else.
How long. Log files are deleted after 14 days.
Hosting. The site runs on a server in DigitalOcean’s London data centre, so the logs are stored in the UK. DigitalOcean processes them only on my behalf, under its data processing agreement.
Your rights. You can ask me for access to, correction or erasure of your data, ask me to restrict its processing, and object to it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
